UNIQUE ATTRIBUTES of SUN METHODOLOGY

The SUN certification program teaches coaches how to offer a specific coaching program as well as the skills and competencies needed to manage the coaching process.

The certification program teaches coaches has a structure and process. The structure involves three British techniques: The Results Game, The Well-Being Game, and The Guidelines for Living. These techniques are tools that enable you and your clients to produce results and well-being and live a more purposeful life.

THE RESULTS GAME

Our thoughts determine our reality; therefore, attending to our choice of language provides insight into our current and desired state of affairs. The Results Game, a tool for tracking how clients think, demonstrates how current reality comes from one¹s thoughts. It also provides a mechanism for monitoring success, identifies the degree to which one chooses to live on purpose, enables one to feel acknowledged for accomplishing, reminds one to learn from experiences, supplies extra motivation (energy) when needed, and offers regular opportunities to check into all areas of life to encourage proactive choices. In playing The Results Game, you learn how to influence reality, and take charge of your life.

Certification includes instruction about the theory, development, processing, and analyses (short-term and long-term) of The Results Game. You create and process seven of your own Results Games, work with sample clients' Results Games, engage in role plays to process mock Results Games, and be observed working with your clients' Results Games.

GUIDELINES FOR LIVING and THE WELL-BEING GAME

Guidelines for Living, the learning, insights, and critical success factors, evolve out of processing The Results and Well-Being Games. They represent new ways of thinking that enable clients to identify obstacles that block the achievement of results and the experience of well-being. Guidelines come from the answers clients give to the good questions you ask. Certification contains information about how to create and monitor the Well-Being Game as well as how to generate Guidelines for Living. Clients learn that basic worth is not measured by results! What is measured is effectiveness at learning how to create the results. It is not enough that the results increase in your life during the time you are coached. The purpose of our work is for you to know that at any time and in any situation you are the person, you are the one, the ONLY one, responsible for producing results.

GUIDELINES FOR LIVING are designed:

  • To increase effectiveness.
  • To increase awareness of what gets in the way of producing results.
  • To have a personal list of what works to get things done.

These sample questions have been designed to facilitate thinking about specific things you can do to become more effective. Used in reviewing/coaching a Results Game, the answers become your Guidelines for Living.

  • What got in the way of you getting what you wanted?
  • What became more important than what you wanted?
  • What would have supported you to get the result?
  • What did you do that enabled you to get so many of these results?
  • If you could identify an operating guideline that would increase your chances of winning (getting the result) the next time around, how would it read?

WELL BEING GAME

THE Well-Being Game is another tool that enables you to produce results effortlessly with an experience of satisfaction, health and happiness in yourself, in your relationships with others, and with the whole. The purpose of this game is to:

  1. Recognize qualities that you express when in a true state of well being.
  2. Give you a way of monitoring your experience of feeling these qualities.
  3. Help you see the pattern of the various facets of your well being so you can influence how you feel.
  4. See the value to yourself, to others and to life in experiencing and sharing a sense of well being.
  5. Recognize the qualities that describe well-being
  6. Distinguish those qualities out of balance
  7. Note qualities that are constant
  8. Pinpoint qualities with large fluctuations
  9. Highlight the correlation between your well-being and your ability to produce results
  10. Experience awareness of the being part of life
